I have just acquired and inspected proof that a good Japanese funk band exists. I know, I know. It's been a long time coming that proof of such a thing existed. I myself never expected to see it and God knows I was looking for it. I suppose what got me into the search for this elusive document that a Japanese band could, in fact, get down, was hearing other Japanese bands that didn't ride in on the funky pony such as Gasoline or the Boredoms or any number of bass-heavy no-tune-on out of whack unknowns to be found on various compliations. I knew there was a select group of Japanese that understood getting down.

I just didn't see. . . well, hear any Japanese funk bands that I liked. It's all about the 16- beat-bass-slapping-ear-splitting-timbre-horn-bursts, like these fucking guys are trying to keep up with Pitzacatto Five, or any of the hundreds of jackoffs trying to do P5. Fucking white boy bullshit is what it is, even if it's Japanese.
